Over the past weeks and months the British public has been turning to the home workout market in order to stay active during lockdown, but finding the right one for you can be difficult. But with so much choice out there it’s a daunting prospect and easy to feel uncomfortable about your ability, but also tricky to even know where to start.

FIIT is an online fitness classes app, designed to bring the classes from the gym to your home. They consist of a range of 25 & 40 minute classes which include HIIT, strength training, combat, yoga, mobility flows, pilates and breathwork. You can join their live classes or go through their library and pick your own. They have a range of different trainers which you can pick from, so if you like one in particular you can keep on reusing them.

The nation’s favourite body coach, Joe Wicks has an endless supply of workout videos that you can access for free on his YouTube channel – Body Coach TV. There are videos for all abilities, some with equipment, some without. He has videos which you can do with your kids (one every morning at the moment), grandparents and family workouts. He even has little weekly challenges you can set for yourself, which can be completed within your household. If you want to go one step further, there are 90 day plans that will help you transform your eating and workout habits, however these come at a cost.
HOMEWOD-19, WOD standing for Workout Of The Day, is a free home workout platform from the Marchon Fitness Team. Ex-Rugby Sevens player Ollie Marchon and his team are giving you daily workouts free of charge for all abilities. They claim to be the fastest growing home workout account on Instagram and you can see why. The workouts are aimed at all abilities and don’t need any equipment. The Marchon Team do offer other programs but these come as a paid upgrade.
Fitness Blender boasts an impressive 500+ free workout videos for every fitness level, alongside effective & affordable workout programs that can be personalised for you to reach your goal. All their workout videos can be found on YouTube along with some recipe and advice videos. Their videos are easy to follow and require minimal equipment.

It’s very easy to get down and slack off your fitness or training with events cancelled and restraints on leaving the home, however we call on everyone to stay active and use this time to refocus your goals and get fit from home and using your one outdoor exercise per day. Find your routine, exercise for at least 30-minutes per day, eat healthily and stay hydrated, and try to remain positive at this testing time.
